The Milanio Maritime Museum is located in the resort of Tsilivi, approximately 6 km from the town of Zakynthos. Founder of the museum is the Greek artist Anthony Milano. When you get there you will recognize it because it has a long torpedo outside. When you login to the interior, you will see many paintings of 4,000 years history, many photos, compasses, ship models, escutcheons, medals, uniforms, swords, and lots of information on the sinking of the British submarine “PERSEUS” in 1941.
You will also see Historical Relics Greek Heroes like Laskarinas Bouboulinas, Miltos Iatridis (Governor of the historical-famous submarine PAPANICOLIS) and other known navigational rebels. Furthermore, it will amaze the historical objects of the destroyer “LEON”, which took part in the experiment of Philadelphia in 1943.
The museum is open only in summer, until the end of October from 9 am to 2 pm and from 6 to 9 pm. During the winter season opens on request. Finally it’s allowed to all school education, after it is having been recognized as appropriate by the Ministry of Education
